Ibanez JEM Steve Vai Signature 10th Anniversary de 1996

Steve Vai, vrai guitar hero de sa génération est connu pour avoir travaillé avec Frank Zappa à 19 ans, ce qui lui vaut le surnom de « little Italian virtuoso »  puis pour son immense carrière solo et ses nombreuses collaborations avec d’autres  artistes.
Il commence à travailler avec la marque japonaise Ibanez au milieu des année 80. Ensemble, ils vont créer la série JEM, une super strat au look agressif et bien d’autres par la suite.
Pour célébrer cette collaboration, un modèle en édition limitée fut créé, 10 ans plus tard.

Voici la n°536 : un corps en tilleul avec le fameux monkey grip en finition noire et un filet en abalone ainsi qu'un binding en perloid. Le manche est en érable et la touche en ébène avec de magnifiques inlays en forme de vigne « Tree of Life » en abalone comptant 24 frettes. Le pickguard est en aluminium avec des gravures de vignes, on retrouve le nom et son numéro de série unique. La tête a également une plaque en aluminium gravée.

On retrouve 3 micros Di Marzio Evolution (HSH), un chevalet double locking tremolo Lo-Pro Edge, un sillet Top-Lok III et des mécaniques Gotoh.

La belle nous a été livrée sans son hardcase et sans certificat.

Elle a quelques traces de jeu mais reste en excellent état.

Un instrument collector et haut de gamme de chez Ibanez à avoir dans sa collection.

Steve Van is known for his work with Frank Zappa, starting at 19 years old, becoming the « Little Italian Virtuoso » and then for his tremendous solo carrier and collaboration with different artists.
He started working with the Japanese company Ibanez in the middle of the 80’s. Together, they will create the JEM serie, a super Strat with a more aggressive look and many more after that.
To celebrate their collaboration, a limited edition run was made, 10 years after.

Here is the number 536 of the serie : a basswood body with the monkey grip in a black finish and an abalone purfling and perloid binding. She has a maple neck with ebony fretboard showing beautiful « Tree of Life » inlays in abalone with 24 frets.
The pickguard and headstock are engraved aluminium with the unique serial number and name of the serie surrounded by a very nice leaf design.

There are 3 Di Marzio Evolution Pickups (HSH), a double locking tremolo Lo-Pro Edge bridge, a Top-Lok III nut and Gotoh tuning machines.

She does not come with her original hardcase and certificate.

She has some play wear but remains in an incredible shape.
