Lorsque l’on parle de la division premium de chez PRS, le Private Stock, il est difficile de ne pas être épaté par le travail effectué, autant pour le choix des matériaux que pour la conception et bien sur, le résultat final.

Il y A 14 ans, le département acoustique a vu le jour et ils n’ont pas fait les choses à moitié.
L’équipe est constituée de 3 luthiers seulement, pour une fabrication de 2 à 3 guitares par mois, à la main, avec une attention très particulière pour chaque instrument. Les guitares sortant de l’atelier sont toutes essayées et validées par Paul Reed Smith lui même. Nous avons donc des instruments uniques et exceptionnels, fait avec passion et un grand savoir faire.

Tout les ans, PRS rend hommage au corps médical et soutient le Kimmel Cancer Center. Le prototype de cette série de 11 exemplaires que nous avons ici a donc été vendu aux enchères au profit de l’institut.

Le certificat a été perdu, une copie est proposée (En discussion avec PRS pour en faire ré-imprimer un). Un dessous de verre en bois avec le numéro de la guitare et les manuels d’utilisation sont fournis.

En plus d’avoir été fabriquée pour une cause très importante, cette guitare est une vraie beauté et un plaisir à jouer.

When we speak about the premium division of PRS, the Private Stock, it is hard no to get astonished by the work being done, as much as the quality tone woods, the building and of course, the final result. 

Fourteen years ago, the acoustic department opened and they didn’t leave things half-done. 

Their team consist of 3 luthiers only, making 3-4 guitars a month, by hand with specific attention to each instruments.

Every year, PRS honors the medical community and supports the Kimmel Cancer Center. The prototype of this series of 11 guitars, the very instrument we have here, was auctioned in aid of the institute.

Top : Europeen Bearclaw spruce with curly maple binding and paua purfling.
Back/Side : Bloodwood with curly maple binding, paua purfling on the back as well as black, maple and black purfling along the sides.
Finish : Natural/High Gloss Nitro.
Neck : Peruvian mahogany « wide ».
Fingerboard and headstock veneer : Ebony.
Nut : Bone.
Inlays : Tree of Life inlays consisting of Koa, solid mother of pearl, gold mother of pearl, red coral and Arizona jade as well as paua purfling (neck)/ Mother of pearl, gold mother of pearl « Private Stock » eagle with Tree of Life inlays and paua purfling (headstock)/ African Blackwood, Koa, solid mother of pearl, gold mother of pearl, red coral and Arizona jade (rosette).

In terms of tone, this guitars gives very expressive and clear high and lows with mellow mid. It has amazing projection and infinite sustain.

The certificate was lost but a copy is given (We are currently in contact with PRS to get another one).
A wooden coaster with the serial of the guitar as well as the user’s guide are furnished.

Beside being made for a very important cause, this guitar is a true beauty and pleasure to hold and play.
